Making Privilege and Bias Visible at Work in Technology

Sector: Technology
Audience: Leadership & teams
Format: Workshop based
Focus: Unconscious bias · gender · privilege beyond norms

The challenge

The organisation sought to strengthen inclusion across its teams by building a shared awareness of the biases that shape workplace interactions , and to move the conversation beyond the obvious, into how privilege operates in ways most people never stop to examine.

Our approach

We delivered a programme focused on unconscious bias with particular attention to gender, and to understanding the concept of privilege beyond standardised norms, helping participants see advantage and disadvantage that usually goes unnoticed in everyday professional life.

  • Unconscious bias, types, real world application and mitigation strategies
  • Gender awareness and respectful workplace behaviour
  • Understanding privilege beyond standardised norms

Inside the Program

As with all our work, the sessions were interactive and reflection-led, using relatable examples to help participants connect the concepts to their own experience.

Reflection Driven

Participants actively connected the discussion to everyday professional scenarios rather than treating it as abstract theory.

Impact & Outcomes

Raised collective awareness of bias and privilege across teams, equipping participants with a conscious, inclusive lens.

"The team alignment session was exactly what we needed to bridge communication gaps between our engineering and product teams."
